Throat Chakra: Speak Your Truth
If you've been keeping up with my blog posts, you know that we have covered the Heart Chakra and Solar Plexus Chakra individually, as well as a general post for Demystifying Your Chakras - This week we continue by adding The Throat Chakra to those. I plan on eventually covering all chakras individually as I continue to update my blog.
The Throat Chakra is the fifth chakra, this energy center is located at the neck. The Throat Chakra is the voice of our body, responsible for expressing how we feel, our beliefs, and bringing forth our personal truths. The color that represents the Throat Chakra is blue and the symbol, represented by a 16-petaled lotus, can be seen in this blog post below. Because of it's location at the neck, the Throat Chakra is often said to be the bridge between the mind-body connection.
This Chakra is the center of:
-Clear and Effective Communication
-Good Listening Skills
-Trusting Your Beliefs
-Confident Self Expression
When properly balanced the Throat Chakra allows you to speak, listen and express yourself authentically without fear of judgment. You'll feel peaceful, truthful and notice good communication in all social circles. Your fifth energy center brings awareness to your ability to relate to others by listening and being a champion for others by standing up for what you believe in.

-Speaking too much or speaking inappropriately to others/Gossiping
-Sore throat, cold symptoms

Sodalite: promotes truth and integrity, enables better communication, increases intuition
Blue Kyanite: fosters truth telling, improves communication, enhances self expression
Aquamarine: promotes speaking truth, cleanses and strengthens the aura, protection against negative energies
Blue Calcite: promotes relaxation, calms and soothes, improves communication skills
Ylang Ylang: instills courage
Peppermint: promotes self expression
Clary Sage: boosts self esteem, balances hormones regulated by the Thyroid

Are you ready to speak your truth and be an advocate to others through good listening skills? Take your time working through activities to help balance your Throat Chakra including journaling your feelings, discussing with close friends and family things that bother you or being a listening ear for those who need you. Specific meditation with focus on the Throat Chakra would also be beneficial including visualizing a bright blue light, repeating affirmations like those listed above, or using any of the essential oils or healing crystals during your quiet time. Other options for balancing your Throat Chakra include sound healing, eating certain foods (blueberries, blackberries, figs), or even trying yoga poses (specifically the fish, lion or plow pose)!
